Fathomable Story Time - Architecture and Cargo Ships!

We had such a great first "Fathomable StoryTime" experience yesterday!  We read "Iggy Peck Architect" by Andrea Beaty (Book linked below) and talked about how different ships are designed by architects for different, unique purposes! We looked out on the water at all the different ships and boats, and talked about all the cool things we can do with the help of boats and the architects that design them. Then we became architects ourselves and built miniature model cargo ships out of tinfoil (Experiment linked below).  We talked about how buoyancy works, and how cargo ships are able to carry things that weigh a LOT more than they do!

I got to meet and interact with so many wonderful kids.  We had a great time learning and exploring the world of science together!  I can't wait to see you next week!
