About me
Hi, my name is Angela!
As a Fathoms Festival Princess, I'm delighted to have the opportunity to share my love of oceans with budding young science enthusiasts in our local community.
I have always been fascinated with the biological sciences; I've studied homesteading agriculture, sea life, and human anatomy & physiology. My primary interests lie in sustainable agriculture specifically as it applies to homesteading, I'm also quite curious about the possibilities and appropriateness of integrating these techniques on board sea vessels. I hope to focus those curiosities in my studies for an Environmental Engineering degree from a great university. As a High School Senior, I'm so excited to be applying for college programs that would allow me to learn even more about many interesting things.
When I was competing for the Fathoms Princess title, my platform was, 'Succeed Anyway.' I shared the story of some challenges I experienced as a kid and how it's been a life goal of mine to help encourage others who might struggle the way I had. I want to help kids understand that even in hard times, they can Succeed Anyway! How wonderful that the Fathoms o'Fun Scholarship Program has allowed me this opportunity to conduct educational outreach to our wonderful local kids!
On this blog, I will share videos of my 'Story time with Princess Angela' each Thursday in August, as well as links to books that are available at our local library, science projects that kids & parents can do together at home, and educational resources available online. I hope to provide a jumpstart for STEM-interested kids to get a strong foundation of knowledge and fun!
I just love our oceans, don't you?!
It's an honor to serve my community as a Fathoms Royalty Court Princess...
and as the Commanding Officer of the PSD NJROTC unit, 2022-23!
Hope to see you Thursdays,
at Port Orchard Waterfront Park for a
FATHOMABLE storytime with Princess Angela!
